Call for Papers - 2019 ACS National Fall Meeting & Exposition

The Call for Papers for the 2019 ACS National Fall Meeting & Exposition in San Diego, CA from August 25 - 29, 2019 is now open!

Being a GEOC Symposium Organizer for this event, please find the title and description of my accepted Symposium as follows:

Geogenic and Anthropogenic Sources of Trace Elements within Surface and Groundwater Systems and their Effects on Water Quality

C. Mei-Ling HAMILTON
Environmental Geochemist & Educator

Freshwater is a finite, non-renewable resource. As water demand from Agricultural, Industrial and Public Sectors increase, available freshwater extracted from waterways and aquifers are becoming critically stressed, overdrafted, and/or contaminated from geogenic and anthropogenic sources.

The focus of this GEOC Symposium is the geochemical characterization of heavy metal(loid)s, salts, and other trace compounds present within natural riverine and aquifer sediment environments, and their measurable effects on Surface water and Groundwater quality.

Encouraged abstract submissions include research concerning Sediment-Pore Water Chemistries; Geochemical Interactions, Partitioning, and Distribution within the Aqueous Sediment Environment; Environmental Transport and Fate of Geogenic or Anthropogenic Trace elements or compounds; and their impacts on Water Quality.

Should you be interested in submitting an abstract, please click on the ACS link provided below:
