Recent Coal Ash Spills in North America
For this week's blog post, I have chosen to satisfy my curiosity concerning Coal Ash or Slurry spills that have happened recently that were similar to the Duke Energy Coal Ash Spill; and the scientific research that ensued. Two Coal Ash Spills of note that are featured today are the Coal Slurry Spill in 2013 from Obed Mine in Canada, and the Coal Ash Spill in 2009 from the TVA Kingston Fossil Plant in Tennessee, USA.
